Our Mission
Inspired by the words of C.S. Lewis, "You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending," we strive to empower women to change their narratives. We provide a compassionate, caring, and faith-centered home for homeless expectant women during their pregnancy and after the birth of their children. Our goal is to assist women in crisis pregnancy situations in learning skills that foster self-sufficiency and provide a vision of hope for their future.
Our Services
At Enkrateia House of Hope, we offer a range of confidential services to support our residents:
Safe Housing
A nurturing home environment for pregnant mothers aged 18 and older during their pregnancy and after the birth of their children.
Educational Support
Assistance in overcoming educational challenges, including aiding job search and training opportunities.
Holistic Care
Addressing educational, medical, material, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs through partnerships with local community resources.
Extended Support
Extending the duration of stay to achieve the goals set by the women as they begin their journey with Enkrateia.
Our Home
Located just 30 minutes west of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, our refurbished four-bedroom home offers peace, trust, security, and support. With two full baths and a central community room facing a tranquil yard, mothers have space to enjoy their own private area. Special care was taken to set aside a room for prayer, contemplation, journaling, and reflection, enhanced by beautiful natural light to uplift mood and energy levels.
Our Story
Enkrateia House of Hope was born out of a desire to serve pregnant women facing crisis situations and homelessness. Recognizing the severe need in the Twin Cities, we established our home to provide mothers with peace, trust, security, and support, enabling them to become the best mothers for their children.

Our home is located in the southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis. For the safety and privacy of our residents, visits are by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule a visit.
